Stock Screener
There’s a new fundamental stock screener from Google Finance out now and it’s not that bad. You can use criteria like: market capitalization, the P/E ratio, the most recently reported trade price, gross margin and others to pare down the list of stocks.
One nice feature is the visual “charts” that go inline with each of the criteria. These graphs make it really easy to see how much of the stock market falls into each part of the range of the stocks being screened. Not bad, but I’d like to see Google add some technical parameters to the stock screener for those of us who prefer a shorter-term trade.
Take the Attitrade stock screener, for example, and you can find some nice technical setups. One of the screens looks for stocks that have just broken below the RSI at either the 70 or 30 level. With the RSI being an oscillator giving over bought and over sold signals, this scan can give some nice candidates.
